Specifically, in 2004, after several years of litigation, Richard was able to obtain substantial settlements in two rape cases occurring at a local motel.
Both cases occurred at the same property and were perpetrated by the same intruder over a twelve day period. Through diligent investigation, extensive review of documents, and depositions of the motel president, Richard was able to prove the motel had failed to maintain security and an accounting of certain master/emergency keys for this specific property allowing an intruder the gain access of the individual motel rooms. In addition, this particular motel failed to install inside safety locks for the security of guests. The first case recovery was $325,000.00 and the second was $450,000.00.
Auto Collision
In a death case, Richard T. Alexander, Jr., LLC was able to prove that two drivers were involved in a contest of speed when one of the drivers collided with the vehicle occupied by the decedent. The second driver fled the scene and was arrested later. The recovery after filing a lawsuit was $1,175,000.00.
